NEWPORT NEWS, NORFOLK, GLOUCESTER -- Norfolk and Newport News have announced that some city services and offices will be either closed or on delay on Monday.
NORFOLK: All Three Norfolk Courts,Community Services Board and the Commonwealth's Attorney Office is closed, and all health department services including all WIC offices are closed.
NEWPORT NEWS: All Newport News City offices delay opening until 10:00 am on Monday, October 29th for non-essential personnel.
All Parks & Recreation youth programs will be consolidated at Brittingham-Midtown Community Center on Monday, and will operate from 8:50 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All Parks & Recreational instructional programs are cancelled for Monday, October 29th.
Solid waste collections this week will be delayed one day (i.e., Monday’s collections will be made on Tuesday, Tuesday’s on Wednesday, Wednesday’s on Thursday, and Thursdays’ on Friday.) Residents should retrieve garbage and recycling carts from the curb and put them in a protected area. Additionally, any bulk debris should be removed from the curb to minimize flooding potential.
GLOUCESTER: All Gloucester County government offices, including the Gloucester court system, will be closed Monday.
YORK COUNTY: York County government offices will open at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 29. Office hours may be delayed even further if conditions warrant. Employees and staff will be notified of any additional change to operating hours.
York County courts will be closed tomorrow.
