NEWPORT NEWS-- Police say a woman was found dead behind the Alley nightclub on Saturday afternoon.
Just before 5 p.m., a person spotted the body floating in flood waters near the 5015 Mercury Blvd. and called the police.
Officers have identified the body floating in a ditch as a 57-year-old Mary Linda McLean, who lived in the 11000 block of Jefferson Ave. in Newport News.
Investigators are investigating how McLean died, but they say they don't suspect foul play. They are looking at whether her death was caused by the weather.
