NEWPORT NEWS -- Police have made an arrest in connection with a 2008 homicide case involving the murders of Barry Richardson and Keon Flemming, ages 16 and 15 at the time of their death.
On Friday, June 21, members of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Gang Unit arrested 21-year-old Floyd Taybron at Habersham Dr. and Jefferson Ave. during a vehicle stop, according to a police press release issued Monday.
Police say Taybron was wanted on two counts of murder, weapons charges, and gang participation in connection with the slayings of Richardson and Flemming.
Taybron, of the 400 block of Greenbriar Avenue in Hampton, would have been 16 years old at the time of the homicides.
The double homicide occurred just after 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Officers were dispatched to the area of 35th Street and Orcutt Avenue for a report of gunshots in the area. Police found both victims lying on the sidewalk.
