Armed robbery in Newport News caught on camera

NEWPORT NEWS -- Police in Newport News are searching for a suspect who robbed a gas station clerk at gunpoint Tuesday night.
 
The robbery took place at the Shell gas station located in the 10000 block of Jefferson Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
 
The male suspect -- believed to be between 18 and 25 years old -- was captured on surveillance video entering the store, brandishing a gun and demanding cash from the clerk.
 
Police say after receiving the undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect then ran from the area.
 
The suspect is described as being 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-6 with a medium build. He was wearing a knit cap, tan jacket and dark colored jeans at the time of the crime.
 
Nobody was injured during the robbery.
