NEWPORT NEWS -- Crews are investigating two fires at an apartment complex in the South East area of the city.
The fire department responded to a structure fire around 7:48 a.m. on Sunday morning in the 4900 block of Rochester Court.
Flames were visible from the second story of the building. Four unoccupied units were damaged.
The Red Cross is assisting six residents who lived in neighboring units.
No one was injured.
On Saturday night crews responded to a fire in the same complex in the 4500 block of Baughman Court at approximately 8:40 p.m.
That unit was also vacant. One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene.
No word on what caused the fire, but investigators have determined the cause to be suspicious.
