Woman attacked
NEWPORT NEWS - Five people are charged in a mob attack on a Newport News woman.
Police say they assaulted a 26-year-old woman around 3:30 a.m. on July 4 as she got out of her car to pick up a friend at Tarrytown Apartments. She was struck on the face with a brick-like object and eventually was able to get away, according to investigators.
She said she'd recently had problems with her old roommates, Officer S. A. Mounger told WVEC.com.
33-year-old Latrice Sandra Cann, 20-year-old Princess Anatasia Singleton, 24-year-old Lamont Tristan Skinner and 29-year-old Shameka Nicole Doswell and 19-year-old Dmitry Sautez Blue Sr. are charged with either Simple Assault or Battery by Mob.
The victim was treated for an eye injury.
