NEWPORT NEWS--Police have arrested 22 people and charged them with crimes related to prostition.
The operation was conducted in support of the National Day of Johns and occurred over three days, Jan. 22nd, 23rd, and 25th.
All three city precincts were involved in the sweep.
Those who were arrested and their charges are below:

The last suspect was not charged with prostitution but he became disorderly when approached by officers making the prostitution arrests and at one point struck an officer while resisting arrest for possession of marijuana that he was seen consuming during the arrests.
