NEWPORT NEWS-- Police in two cities are boosting the search for a man officers call dangerous.

Hampton and Newport News police are on the hunt for Tyrek Allen. Allen is wanted for a triple shooting last February and a July murder in Newport News.  He is also accused of a shooting in Hampton.

Sunday morning, Newport News police got a tip that Allen was at a home in the 1100 block of Garden Drive near 16th St.  Tactical units executed a high risk search warrant, but came home empty handed.

Later that day, the Hampton SWAT team searched the home of Floyd Taybron. On July 21, Taybron and Allen are accused of shooting a man on W. Queen St.

Officers were hoping to find evidence inside the house that could help them catch Allen.

Police say Allen is a violent man, and officers want to get him off the streets before he commits more crimes.

Newport News police asks for assistance from the community in this matter. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
