NEWPORT NEWS - No one in Virginia had a winning ticket for the $448 million Powerball jackpot, but one player who bought a ticket in Newport News won $10,000.
That person bought the ticket at the Wawa at 14803 Warwick Blvd., said Va. Lottery spokesman John Hagerty.
More than 108,000 Powerball tickets bought in Virginia won prizes in Wednesday night's drawing, ranging from $4 to a $1 million. The million-dollar ticket was bought at Giant Food, 7137 Columbia Pike in Annandale. Two other $10,000 tickets were bought in Front Royal and Arlington.
At least three people in two states will split the big Powerball jackpot, after two winning tickets were sold in New Jersey (at a Super Stop & Shop store in South Brunswick and Acme Markets store in Little Egg Harbor) and one was sold in Anoka County, Minnesota, which includes the city and suburbs north of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were: 05, 25, 30, 58, 59 and Powerball 32.
