UPDATE: Suspect taken into custody following overnight standoff in Hampton

10:24 UPDATE: The suspect has been taken into custody, according to Hampton police. No injuries have been reported.

8:35 a.m. UPDATE: One woman and two children have come out of the house, Hampton police said. One person is still inside the home. Authorities are working to get the individual to come out voluntarily.

7:30 a.m. UPDATE: Kids that live on Walnut Street and ride the bus are asked to go to Pine Grove Avenue and Walnut Street to be picked up.

HAMPTON -- Police are on scene investigating a domestic related incident in Hampton. 

Residents in the 400 block of Walnut Street are being advised to stay inside their homes, according to Hampton police. 

Police say the incident began around 11 p.m. yesterday, when officers came in contact with an adult female resident. The resident refused to open the door or come out to speak with the officers. 

Due to the nature of the call, officers feared that someone inside the home may be in danger. The SWAT Team, as well as the Crisis Negotiations Team, was called in to assist. 

Police believe there are two children and two adults are holed up inside the home.
