The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula is in need of items to help people in need.
15% of people living in Newport News and Hampton need food and of those, one in four is a child, so any donation will help.
"What we would really love is for you to call 757-596-7188 and make a donation for whatever you can. $1, $5, $25, it all makes a difference," said Maggie Gerheart with the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula.
The Wipe Out Hunger event airs at 8:00 p.m. during ABC's new show Wipeout.
