Hampton Police step up patrols after fight at Phoebus High School

HAMPTON --Extra officers are at Phoebus High School Tuesday after a fight there Monday morning.

According to Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Department, the increased officer presence will last throughout the day.

Police were called to the Ireland St. school around 11:36 a.m. Monday for a fight inside the building.  Due to the nature of the incident, Price said the school was placed on lockdown for about three hours.

Three students have been identified as being involved in the incident and are being dealt with by school administration, he added.

It's not clear what kind of punishment the students may face.

No one has been arrested or charged and details about the fight are not available.

No students, staff or officers were hurt.
