Update: Gunshot victims drive themselves to hospital, one dies

HAMPTON--Police have identified a man who was fatally shot on Thursday. Kurtis Rashad Toombs, a 25-year-old Hampton resident, died after suffering a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Police are searching for suspects in the shooting that also injured a second man.

The two men were in a 2012 Chevy Malibu in the 200 block of South Back River Road in Hampton. They drove themselves to the hospital for treatment.

Police were notified around 11 p.m. that two men were being treated for upper body gunshot wounds at Sentara Careplex. 

One of the victims died Friday morning. 

The second victim is a 23-year-old Hampton man.  He was treated and has been released.

The motive for the shooting is not known and police are still investigating this double shooting.
