HAMPTON (AP) -- A veteran Hampton police officer remains on leave as an investigation of misconduct allegations continues.
Police department spokesman Cpl. Jason Price tells The Daily Press that Major Kenneth R. Seals and two other officers were placed on administrative leave with pay on Feb. 23.
Lt. James R. Crotts retired April 1 and Cpl. Christopher Lyon was returned to "full duty status" on July 23.
Price would not provide details of the investigation because it's a personnel matter.
The Virginia State Police conducted an investigation on any criminal wrongdoing
The investigation is complete and no charges will be filed because the commonwealth's attorney office on June 14 concluded no criminal charges were warranted, Cpl. Price told WVEC.com.
Price adds that police department's internal investigation continues to see if there was any violation of City and police dept. policy, procedures and rules and regulations.
