Hampton Vacant House Fire
HAMPTON, VA -- Firefighters in Hampton battled an early morning structure fire in the 1900 block of Hurst drive Sunday. The house was subsequently determined to be vacant and no injuries were reported.
Units arrived around 8:36 a.m. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof, . The fire was under control within 15 minutes.
According to Batt. Chief Jeff Pereira with the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue, an investigator from the Hampton Fire Marshal's office said the fire started in the attic space above the kitchen. The cause is currently unknown.
