RICHMOND (AP) -- Activists in Hampton Roads and across Virginia are joining in a global day of action on climate change.

From Buckroe Beach in Hampton to Blacksburg, volunteers will gather throughout Virginia on Saturday to deliver the message that climate change is having an impact throughout the state. Participants in Climate Impacts Day say they'll attempt to "connect the dots" between extreme weather events and climate change.

The 18 scheduled events Saturday will occur in a Norfolk neighborhood that is on the frontline of sea level increases, outside a coal-fired plant at Virginia Tech, and at a Harrisonburg farmers market and a Heathsville vineyard to underscore climate change's impact on agriculture.
