Police make an arrest in shooting that killed Hampton teen

8/21 UPDATE: Police have arrested Morgan Troy Taylor in the shooting of 17-year-old Devin Harrison in Hampton Tuesday night.

The preliminary investigation shows that the victim attempted to enter a Nissan Altima which was occupied by Morgan Taylor. The two got into an altercation at which point Taylor displayed a gun and shot Harrison.

It is believed the two knew each other and that this was not a random occurrence. 

Morgan Troy Taylor is a 22-year-old Hampton man who lives in the first block of Pine Oak Court. Hampton Police have taken him into custody and charged him with one count of homicide and one count of using a firearm.

8/20 11:40 a.m. UPDATE: Police say Devin Harrison of Hampton is the teen who was killed Tuesday night.

HAMPTON -- Hampton Police are on the scene of a homicide Tuesday evening.

At 7:47 p.m. several 911 calls were made in regards to a possible shooting. 

When officers arrived they found a man with a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police say the homicide occurred in the 1800 block of Copperfield Road. 

No suspect information or motive has been released. An investigation is still underway.
