HAMPTON-- One man is dead after a shooting that happened earlier this month; police are still searching for the suspect involved in the homicide.
Police responded to a shooting on Pacific Drive on September 6. When officers arrived on the scene, they found 42-year-old Sam Edward Small with a gun shot wound to the chest. Small was taken to the hospital to be treated for his life-threatening injury. He died at the hospital shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday night.
Investigators found out later that 23-year-old Davon Pierre Brooks, from Newport News, was arguing with the victim inside a home when Brooks pulled out a gun and shot Small.
Davon Pierre Brooks has warrants on file for one count of Homicide, one count for use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
