HAMPTON -- The Hampton History Museum will commemorate the first recorded English Christmas in North America, which took place in Hampton, with the sixth annual First Light Celebration.

The free event will coincide with this year’s Hampton Holly Days Parade: Joy to the World, which takes place at 7 p.m.

Hear about the first recorded English Christmas in North America, make several different heirloom ornaments, hear some of Hampton's best choirs sing traditional music, raise your voice with karaoke caroling, enjoy refreshments from Cracker Barrel and the Magnolia House, and watch a nostalgic train display.

The Sixth annual First Light Celebration concludes with the lighting of the blue star atop the Hampton History Museum, paying tribute to the first recorded English Christmas in North America.

Sixth annual First Light Celebration at the Hampton History Museum:
Saturday, December 14
5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
120 Old Hampton Lane
