HAMPTON - A man robbed a Hampton grocery store early Tuesday.

He walked into Food Lion on W. Mercury Blvd. around 7:00 a.m.,  went to the office, pulled a gun, demanded money and left with the cash, police said.

Two images from surveillance cameras show the suspect, who is described as black, about 5’11” tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing a black ball cap with a white “M” on the front and carried a black backpack with gray reflective material.
