Driver charged with DUI after hitting 2 State Police cars, crashing in Norfolk

HAMPTON-State Police say a man was driving drunk and a chase ended when he hit two State Police cars and then crashed.  

Troopers say they tried to stop 24-year-old Julius Kinyata Heckstall near Mallory Street in Hampton around 1:25 a.m. Friday, but he wouldn't pull over. That started a pursuit that took State Police into Norfolk, where Heckstall off I-64 at 4th View. They say he ran into two State Police vehicles at the intersection of Ocean View Avenue and 4th View and still kept going. As he tried to get back on I-64 headed back to Hampton, he crashed into the jersey wall and was arrested, said Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

Heckstall is charged with driving under the influence.

No one was hurt.
