HAMPTON -- Three women were struck by a hit-and-run driver in Hampton Friday evening.
Police say three friends had left the 7-Eleven and were crossing in the 3000 block of Kecoughtan Road when a truck going east struck them and kept going.
The women - Marmalela Volk, Michelle Ralph and April Ballard - were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Volk remains in the hospital with shattered legs and is facing surgery.
"He hit me. I went up on the hood, went up, came down," she recalled.
Michelle Ralph says she has head trauma and, through her tears, said she can't remember that she has grandchildren. She was back at the hospital Tuesday to be checked out.
All of the women say they have forgiven the driver, but they want him caught.
"He left us all there and we were scattered in separate places, Volk stated. "He came and didn't have the decency to come back and check to see if we are ok."
Ballard wonders the same thing.
"Why would he want to leave three people? I don't care, why would you leave like that and not come back?"
Police are looking for the driver of an older-model, white Ford Ranger that;s missing the driver's side mirror. They have no description of the driver.
Police want anyone with information to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
