CHESAPEAKE -- A truck driver was injured after being robbed by two individuals in Chesapeake Wednesday night.

Police responded to the scene in the 2700 block of Trade Street around 9:20 p.m., according to spokesperson Det. D.M. Boykin.

The victim told police he had walked to a wooded area to use the restroom before picking up his tractor trailer at that location. That's when he was knocked to the ground by two unknown suspects.

When the victim pulled out his pocket knife it was taken by one of the suspects who then cut him with it, Boykin said.

The suspects then took the victim's money and fled on foot. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
