RICHMOND (AP) -- A manufacturer of pumping systems for the marine and other industries plans is expanding its Chesapeake operations that will create 34 new jobs.
Gov. Bob McDonnell announced DESMI Inc.'s $1.9 million expansion Thursday. He says a renovated 37,000-square-foot facility will open Nov. 1.
He says the company is consolidating its U.S. manufacturing operations in Chesapeake, where it will establish its North American headquarters.
Denmark-based DESMI's pumps and systems are sold in more than 100 countries. McDonnell says DESMI started in Chesapeake with just five employees in 2011.
