CHESAPEAKE-- One man died after a single-vehicle accident Friday night in Chesapeake.
The crash occurred on I-64 eastbound, west of Greenbrier Parkway, at 10:15 p.m.
Virginia State Police say the driver of a 2000 Mazda van lost control and the van overturned several times. He was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, investigators stated.
State Trooper W.L. Thomas determined that speed was a factor in the accident. He also reports that the driver was wearing his seat belt and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The driver has not yet been identified.
