House Fire Displaces Six

CHESAPEAKE -- A fire heavily damaged a home in Bowers Hill Sunday night, displacing a family of six.
 
A call came to emergency dispatchers shortly after 10:00 p.m. Firefighters got to the single-story house in the 3900 block of Galleon Drive eight minutes after the call came.
 
Crews found heavy smoke coming from the home. They had the fire under control by 10:47 p.m.
 
No one was hurt. The family is staying with relatives.
 
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
