CHESAPEAKE -- One driver was air-lifted to a hospital after a two vehicle crash off Old Mill Road on Sunday.
Around noon officers were alerted to a crash in the 3500 block of Old Mill Road. When police arrived they located an a man, conscious inside his vehicle near a tree.
Initial reports indicate that he was traveling on Old Mill Road when he sideswiped another vehicle, left the roadway and then struck a tree.
He was airlifted to a Sentara Norfolk General with life-threatening injuries.
In order to investigate the accident, the portion of Old Mill Road between Raytee Drive and Pioneer Lane were closed for several hours.
It is unclear if alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.
No other details have been released.
