CHESAPEAKE -- The City of Chesapeake says tap water should return to normal Monday and the chlorine smell will disappear soon.
Officials had to temporarily switch the water treatment chemical in order to keep bacteria from becoming resistant.
The water is still safe to drink during the switch, but it has a slight chlorine smell to it.
