CHESAPEAKE -- Police are searching for a driver who led them on a high speed pursuit Tuesday afternoon.

The incident began around 5:15 p.m. at Obendorfer Road and Mahone Avenue.

That's when police say an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle for excessive tint. The vehicle stopped at Mahone Avenue and Appomattox Street in the City of Norfolk.

As the officer exited his vehicle, the suspect vehicle sped off.  Chesapeake police initiated a pursuit of the vehicle.

The driver of the suspect vehicle eventually lost control and struck three parked vehicles in the 200 block of Hardy Ave in Norfolk.

The adult male driver along with two adult occupants fled from the vehicle.  The pursuing Chesapeake officer was able to take the two passengers into custody and detain them without incident.

The driver is still outstanding. The identity of the driver is under investigation.

No injuries were reported. There are currently no charges pending against the passengers.
