CHESAPEAKE---A family of four is telling their incredible story of survival to 13News Now following the tornado that touched down on the Eastern Shore.

Liz Jones was camping with her boyfriend Chris and the couple's two kids, eight-year-old Matt and five-year-old Bella when the storm passed through Cherrystone Campground.

"All of a sudden you don't see anything. It's pitch black," Jones said.

The tornado crushed everything in sight including the car the family huddled inside.

"All four of us were head to head, and we prayed."

The family was originally going to brave the storm in their tent. They didn't think it was going to be that bad, but Chris' son insisted they move to the car.

Liz believes it was the reason they survived.

"My faith will never waiver again."

A total of three trees came down on the family's campsite that morning. Every single person walked away unharmed.
