Dr. Richard S. Rosenblum is a native of Virginia Beach. He graduated from Norfolk Academy and went on to study Religion at Colgate University, then returned to the south to attend the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He began his surgical residency at the University of Kentucky and was invited to attend prestigious Vanderbilt University where he completed Plastic Surgery training. He ultimately achieved a rare double board certification in ENT and Plastic Surgery.In an effort to further specialize in facial and cosmetic surgery, he completed a fellowship with Dr. William P. Magee, Jr. and Operation Smile International. He was also afforded the rare opportunity to spend several months in Paris with renowned cosmetic surgeons. It was there that he was exposed to innovative cosmetic procedures and techniques which are still being introduced in the United States today.
These experiences culminated with the establishment of Rosenblum Plastic Surgery. The vision was realized with the creation of a free standing, state of the art surgical center and adjacent Spa and Laser Center located in the North End of Virginia Beach. Rosenblum Plastic Surgery offers a full complement of both surgical and non surgical services to enhance the appearance of even the most discriminating clients.
Dr. Rosenblum maintains an active cosmetic surgery practice in Virginia Beach where all of his procedures are performed at his fully accredited ambulatory surgical facility. In association with the Spa and Laser Center, his patients are pampered with the latest and most innovative skin care and laser treatments. This not only ensures that operative results are maximized and long-lasting but, on occasion, surgical procedures are avoided in favor of newer, less invasive techniques. Dr. Rosenblum has specifically developed techniques for endoscopic brow lifts, minimal incision face lifts, short scar breast lifts and no incision rhinoplasties; all in an effort to minimize scars, decrease downtime and improve results.

- Board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery ensures that the surgeon has a solid background in a general surgical specialty and rigorous training in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Rosenblum is not only board certified in Plastic Surgery but is double board certified in ENT surgery as well.
- Does plastic surgery leave scars?
- All surgeries leave scars, but plastic surgeons are able to hide or conceal the scars so that they will not be noticeable.
- Will it hurt?
- All surgical procedures cause some discomfort, and pain medications will be given to relieve pain. Often times, pain pumps for larger procedures will be arranged to go home with patients after surgery.
- How many cases have you done?
- Over the last decade, I have done more than 3,500 cosmetic and reconstructive cases. I have also spent some of that time helping the children of our community and our world overcome the affliction of cleft lip and palate and disfiguring birthmarks. My experience and intimate association with Operation Smile has afforded me a special surgical expertise and human touch which is the basis for all cosmetic procedures.
