VIRGINIA BEACH--Joe Smith was born January 14th 1904 in Harrisonburg Virginia. Saturday he turned 108 years old. It is believed he is the oldest person in the state. Most of his career was spent working at the Naval Air Rework Facility at Naval Station Norfolk. Joe still shoots pool at the Marion Manor Retirement Center. His advice is to live a simple life.
