INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A lot of people say they watch the Super Bowl for the commercials.

A Virginia Beach man and his friends' dog had one of the most popular Super Bowl ads and won a million dollars.

Jonathan Friedman submitted his “Man’s Best Friend” spot for a Doritos contest and it became the top ad in a USA Today national poll.  More than 6,100 ads were submitted in that contest.

The company made him available for interviews from Indianapolis Monday morning and he was still letting it all sink in.

“I’m still in shock by it all. I feel amazing, though. It’s been an incredible experience for me,” he said.

He says he was completely overwhelmed and choked up when he learned he was the winner.

"Luckily my brother was there and held me up, made sure I didn't pass out," he said.

As for his new “best friend,” Friedman says he’s going to buy Huff a brand new dog collar and as many treats as he can eat, as long as owners Betsy and Joe don't mind.

As for the money, Friedman says he wants to give some to his family and friends and help finance a feature film he wants to make with his brother.

Friedman’s victory will allow him to work with Andy Samberg of Saturday Night Live on a future Doritos project.
