RICHMOND -- Tastings at Virginia ABC stores will begin on July 1, officials announced on the ABC Facebook page.
Officials say the governor signed legislation passed by the General Assembly in January.
Tastings will be conducted by an employee or representative of the spirits or farm winery that gets a permit.
Spokeswoman Becky Gettings says the rules are similar to those for restaurants, such as a maximum limit of three ½ oz. samples per person of legal age and that the vendors choose the product(s) they wish to showcase.
