NEWPORT NEWS – A Newport News man is accused of having child pornography on his computer and now investigators are looking for more possible victims.
20-year old Ian Hartney is suspected of filming young girls for several years.
Police busted Hartney after he took his laptop to a repair shop in Chesapeake. Workers there called police after they say they found homemade videos and photos showing boys and girls engaged in sexually explicit acts. An affidavit detailed the contents of the videos. One was titled “Girl gets molested by a clown.” Another read “Pedophilia part four.”
For security reasons, federal agents are not releasing Hartney’s photos.
Hartney is a shipyard worker in Newport News. He was arrested at his home.
Court documents show children as young as seven were being sexually assaulted by an adult male.
One of the victims was identified and interviewed. She helped police find six other victims, but authorities believe there are 24 victims. They’re urging them to speak up so they can bring justice.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency is investigating along with other federal agencies.
“There are no borders on the internet,” said ICE assistant special agent Mike Lamonea. “One of the top priorities is to identify and assist any additional and potential victims,” he added.

Hartney is expected in court Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Newport News.
