VIRGINIA BEACH – Would you get a face lift if you didn’t have to cut under the knife?

A new procedure promises to make you look younger for much less than a traditional face lift.

It’s called ultherapy, which combines the use of ultrasound images with sound waves to target deep beneath the skin to tighten from the inside out. It’s effective on the face, neck and jaw line.

Men and women who undergo the facial rejuvenation therapy usually need just single one-hour treatment and it not long before clients see a difference.

"There's a little bit of immediate tightening and then you gradually lift and tighten over the next three or four or five or six months and then the results are relatively persistent," states dermatologist Dr. David McDaniel with the Laser and Cosmetic Center in Va. Beach.

62-year-old Myra Wall decided this was a good option to keep ahead of the wrinkles.

"There's no cutting and then the treatment is almost beneficial in three months,” she explained. “I think I'm too young and not ready for any kind of surgery."

The common side effects are tender skin and some minor bruising.

Ultherapy can run between $1500 to $3000.
