PORTSMOUTH - Police say a man killed himself when Portsmouth sheriff's deputies tried to serve him civil papers.
Authorities say Willard Schuyler Greene, 58, was found dead in the River Cove home in the Cavalier Forest neighborhood on February 7.
When deputies arrived around 3:05 p.m., they heard gunfire and called for extra help. The SWAT team arrived and went into the home around 5:30 p.m.
Greene's body was found outside the rear door, police stated
