VIRGINIA BEACH--Congressman Glenn Nye is opposing the cancellation of a program that helps out military spouses.
Last week, the Defense Department shut down the Military Spouse Career Advancement Account. The fund helps pay for college and career advancement. Sunday he met with military spouses as a plan to get the program restored.
According to the CAA website the program has been temporarily halted while being evaluated.
Nye says he has written a letter to the Secretary of Defense and is waiting for answers.
