NASSAWADDOX - -Fire destroyed a restaurant on the Eastern Shore early Tuesday.
Fire crews from several localities responded to Captain’s Deck around 4:45 a.m. and found fire burning through the roof.
The fire was under control at 6:35 a.m. and no one was hurt.
Virginia State Police are investigating, which is standard procedure, but initial reports indicate it was accidental in nature.
The family-run restaurant on Lankford Highway, about 30 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, is considered a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
