VIRGINIA BEACH -- Act of Valor made its local debut Tuesday night on two screens at Beach Movie Bistro.
Although the film is scripted, Navy SEALs who are on active duty play all military roles, essentially, becoming actors.
Originally intended as a recruitment film, once shooting began, directors saw the potential to tell a deeper story about the Navy SEALs and the secretive work they do.
Act of Valor goes into wide release in theatres nationwide Friday, February 24.
