NORFOLK -- Millions of Facebook users are about to be forced to make a change, that is, if they haven’t already.
The new Timeline is getting mixed reviews.
13News talked with Facebook users at a local coffee shop to see what they think about the new design which the social media network is soon making mandatory.
"I think they were trying to compete a lot with all the changes with Google Plus and the new social media sites and they wanted to kind of update it and be a little different," said social media expert Naoma Doriguzzi who uses the site for her business.
Doriguzzi has not made the change yet and is going to wait until Facebook forces her to do so.
"I like to say that technology is, yes, it's ever changing but in the same way I think that people should be able to adapt to that as we have been for years," Doriguzzi said.
Meanwhile, some like Jedorah Osorio are embracing the Timeline.
"It's kind of neat to be able to just pick the year and go back and you can see maybe how long you've been friends with someone or just see the changes,” commented Osorio.
Juan Solorzano likes the new look.
"They have a nice banner area at top that you are able to pretty much create it any way you want to and it's a good way to self promote yourself."
If users don’t make the change, Facebook will adjust the home page for them. There is not a specific date for the change; however, we're told it could be anywhere from a week to a few weeks.
