CHESAPEAKE -- The teenager accused of shooting and killing a 12-year old Chesapeake girl has a court hearing Tuesday, and the victim's mother says she will be there.

Carolyn "Cee Cee" Walker was shot in the head on January 10.  Authorities say the shooter got the gun from another child's home.

The victim's family shows off the banners and cards sent to them, all in memory of Cee Cee.

"I was crying," said mother Lisa Walker.  It was like 'Oh my God, so many people loved her.'"

Even a grandparent of one of Cee Cee's friends was so touched, he drew a portrait of her.

Walker says all the support is helping her cope.  She told 13News that she plans to attend each court hearing.

"This will not be a child to slip through the loophole," Walker said.  "He may not have been a bad kid, but he made a bad decision. "

Walker urges all parents to make sure they safely secure all guns.

The accused shooter remains in juvenile detention and is undergoing mental health evaluations.
