Project Green
Electronic Recycling

As technology continues to churn forward at a mind numbing pace, Americans are accumulating close to 50 million tons of electronic waste (obsolete computers, cell phones, printers, etc.) each year, but there is still much confusion as to how to dispose of it.

Dumping e-waste into landfills can release elements that leach into the soil and water.  Incinerating e-waste can also release harmful particles into the air.  If these items are recycled responsibly, the raw material can be used again. Cell phones contain many precious metals that are not renewable such as silver, platinum, copper and gold.

Use the links and contact information below to find out how your city can help you dispose of electronic waste responsibly.
