Welcome to WVEC’s Eagle Cam Moderated Blog. Please be respectful, polite, and ask questions focused on the NBG eagles.
Am I required to log in?
Logging in is not required to read the blog or to submit a question. However, we provide the option to log in with a social media account if you desire. This will show your profile picture with your post and allow you to share comments with your Facebook friends and Twitter followers. If your computer lags or has other performance issues while using the social media plugins, it could be due to congestion on Facebook or Twitter. If this happens, we suggest reading and posting in the blog without logging in.
Is every comment or question posted?
Due to the extremely high volume of comments submitted, only a few will be published. Please do not take it personally if yours is not.
Only comments selected by the moderators are published. All comments can be seen by moderators, but comments are published entirely at their discretion. When the same question is asked by many viewers, only one answer will be given.
Has my question already been answered?
Before posting, please read the FAQ page maintained by Norfolk Botanical Garden, where many common questions have been answered. You may also scroll through the forum to see which questions have been answered recently.
Who are the moderators?
Our moderators are volunteers who work very hard to make the Eagle Cam experience enjoyable and educational. They are knowledgeable about eagles and have collected information from scientists who monitor this nest. Biologists, researchers and staff from Norfolk Botanical Garden frequently visit the Moderated Blog to answer questions directly.
Why are there so many school children in the blog?
Eagle Cam provides a unique educational opportunity to view an eagle nest in the wild. Teachers and students are encouraged to use the Moderated Blog to interact with experts and ask questions. Classrooms are given priority in the blog.
If I submit a comment, who will see it?
Your comments in the Eagle Cam moderated chat are public and will be read by thousands of people on multiple platforms. Please consider your comments carefully before submitting.
What other information and resources are available?
Check out the informational links on the Eagle Cam page, as well as our archive of slideshows, videos, and news coverage. Wildlife expert Reese Lukei monitors our nest closely and publish a blog with photos and updates. He is also involved in the eagketrak project which monitors eagles' movement through tracking harnesses.
Thank you for watching our eagles!
