NORFOLK—13News and the Norfolk Tides went to bat against bullying Sunday.

Anchors Lasalle Blanks, Vanessa Coria and Joe Flanagan took the field with students to salute the Rachel’s Challenge program.

It’s all about doing random acts of kindness for others.

"It's just amazing that kindness and compassion is spreading out in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, too," Audra Patti of Princess Anne Middle said.

"It's about standing up for other people and looking for the best in everybody,” Jennifer Green Larkspur middle school student added.

"This isn't just school wide; we can do this citywide; we can do this statewide,” Michelle Barrington of Larkspur Middle said.

Students wanted to say thanks to the Norfolk Tides for giving them free tickets to the game in honor of their efforts to fight bullying.
