VIRGINIA BEACH--13 News is reaching out to kids across Hampton Roads encouraging them to take part in Rachel's Challenge.

It's a campaign to stop bullying and violence in schools.

Saturday's rally took place at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.

Rachel's Challenge came out of the Columbine tragedy.  Students are taking the lead to do the right thing and helping to change attitudes.  They're also encouraging random acts of kindness.

"Our school has been greatly improved to take Rachel's Challenge and there's been less bullying.  If you do take the higher road you will get further in life than you are now," said student Gary Watson.

Schools interested in taking part can contact WVEC.
