NORFOLK -- Summer's not yet over, but it's time to start back-to-school shopping.

August 3-5 is Virginia and North Carolina's no-tax holiday on certain school supplies.

There are many families who can't afford some of the basics for their children, so that's where you can help by donating to the WVEC-TV Write Stuff campaign.

Drop off pencils, paper, notebooks, backpacks and other supplies at any Farm Fresh supermarket, Chick-Fil-A restaurant and Grand Furniture stores during the month of April.

The supplies will be collected by the Salvation Army, which will then distribute them from August 29-31 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

To apply, contact the Salvation Army.
