Weekend car shows benefit Vetshouse

NORFOLK - Two car shows on Saturday will raise money to help homeless veterans get back on their feet. 

Bryant and Stratton College's Student Veterans Association is putting on a show at the school, located at 301 Centre Pointe Drive in Virginia Beach. It's from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be door prizes, raffles, vendors, and a bass off. Organizer Thomas DuBois says he expect around 500 cars, trucks, motorcycles, lowrider bicycles and other vehicles to participate in the show. He hopes to raise $5,000.

It's $20 to enter your vehicle; it's free for you to see.

Also on June 22, the Custom Classic Corvette Club is putting on its 3rd annual Car, Truck and Bike Show to benefit Vetshouse. It will be held at Eggleston Services, located at 3523 North Military Highway in Norfolk, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

There will be 30 awards given in categories like Best in show, best car, best truck and best motorcycle.
