VIRGINIA BEACH - On Sunday, September 9, the Travis Manion Foundation expects more than 75,000 Americans - including 40,000 registered runners - to come out across the nation to run, volunteer, donate, cheer but most of all HONOR the more than 9,000 men and women who gave their lives on 9/11 and since.

At least 1,000 runners are expected to gather Sunday morning, September 9th, for a 9:00 am start time at Mt. Trashmore at the intersection of Independence and Edwin Blvd.

There will be day-of race registration onsite as well starting at 7:15 am.

The 9/11 Heroes Run is about honoring the selfless courage demonstrated by thousands of brave men and women who wear the uniform of our country - whether police, firefighter, military or EMS. Our commitment is to “gather thousands, community by community, to run, volunteer, cheer and most importantly honor the fallen.”

Virginia Beach will be hosting its inaugural 5K race as well as a 1 Mile children’s fun run in honor of those who have served and sacrificed as veterans and first responders in our community and nation wide. 50% of the proceeds will benefit the 31 Heroes Project.

Online registration for the 9/11 Heroes Run ends at 11:59pm on Thursday, September 6.  Click here to register.
