Hampton-Saturday Summer Street Fest brings family fun to the streets of downtown Hampton, Saturday, August 11, with musical entertainment provided by National Recording Artist The BoDeans.
The BoDeans are an all American band playing roots rock that combines blues, rock, country and soul all slammed together into one sound. They're best known for the song "Closer to Free" that became a massive hit and the theme song of the sitcom Party of Five. The BoDeans continue to tour the U.S. year-round, exposing kids of their longtime steadfast fans to heartfelt, trend-free, American-made music.
A giant inflatable, face painting and activities are provided from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Children’s activities are made possible by Bay Port Credit Union, Chapman’s Magic and the Virginia Air & Space Center.
The fest is from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Queensway in Downtown Hampton. Admission is FREE! Children can enjoy the inflatable ride, face painting and other special activities for $4 a ticket. Saturday Summer Street Fest is part of the Celebrations by the Bay Event Series in Downtown Hampton presented by the Virginia Air & Space Center.
